First gas has begun at the Santos-operated Oyong offshore East Java in Indonesia.
The oil and gas field is located in the Straits of Madura at the Sampang production sharing contract with Cue Energy and Singapore Petroleum.
The gas is being transported, via a 14in, 60km pipeline, from the offshore Oyong production facility to the onshore processing plant at Grati, East Java.
The field holds about 103 billion cubic feet of recoverable gas on a proved plus probable basis, Cue Energy said.
The Oyong field is a simple structural closure with oil and gas contained in the Pliocene-aged carbonate Mundu Formation.
