BP Abandons Egyptian Oil Well

The well was drilled to 3,659m, but failed to encounter significant hydrocarbons, North Shadwan's partner Beach Petroleum said in a statement.

BP previously found oil in the NS 377-3 well.

Production from the 377 field is expected to start at the Ras Ghara facility in early 2010.
