Oilfield support services firm Asco has secured a contract worth more than £100m to support BP’s UK North Sea operations.

The deal with BP Exploration and Production will see Asco provide a range of oilfield services, including supply-base and warehouse operations, as well as waste management and local freight forwarding services. The contract will run for five years.

"We are pleased to be building on a client relationship that spans more than 20 years."

BP has to date invested £35bn in the North Sea, and produced more than five billion barrels of oil and gas. The company, along with its partners, is investing a further £10bn in the North Sea by 2017.

Aberdeen is the headquarters for BP’s North Sea upstream business, covering offshore operations, terminals, and pipelines in the UK and Norway.

Asco CEO of Europe Craig Lennox said: "We are pleased to be building on a client relationship that spans more than 20 years.

"Maintaining this strong and successful connection with BP is a great achievement and we look forward to safely and efficiently delivering on this key contract."
