Wood Group has secured a contract with Statoil for detailed design of the subsea tie-back from Utgard gas and condensate field to the Sleipner facilities in the Norwegian North Sea.

The $1m contract is for a period of three years and will be executed from Wood Group’s offices in Stavanger and Oslo.

The Utgard tie-back comprises a 21km-long pipe-in-pipe production pipeline from the four-slot template at Utgard to the Sleipner T platform, as well as an integrated service umbilical (ISU) from the Sleipner A.

"The Utgard tie-back comprises a 21km-long pipe-in-pipe production pipeline."

Wood Group chief executive Robin Watson said: “This further cements our strong global relationship with Statoil that is built on trust in our broad portfolio of capabilities and provision of innovative and diverse technical solutions.

“We are excited to continue our work on the next stage of the Utgard field development and will leverage our deep knowledge of the field and the Sleipner facilities, alongside our commitment to working collaboratively with Statoil to ensure success in effective and efficient delivery of this challenging subsea project.”

Separately, Wood Group has also secured a new engineering services contract to support Dong Energy’s oil and gas assets across the Danish, Norwegian and UK continental shelves.

Under the four-year contract, set to start immediately, the company will provide front-end development, maintenance and modifications, engineering, as well as late-life and decommissioning services, for topsides and subsea facilities.
