Tullow Oil and its partners have made the first oil find from the Jubilee field, offshore Ghana.

Oil first flowed into the floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) system on 28 November 2010 and has been used to commission the facilities.

Initially, the oil production rate will increase to 55,000 barrels of oil a day and then reach 120,000 barrels a day, as new wells are completed over the coming three to six months.

Tullow Oil, the operator of the field, also holds a 34.70% interest in Jubilee, while Anadarko, Kosmos, GNPC, Sabre Oil and EO Group also hold shares.

The first tanker of oil from the Jubilee field is expected to be exported in January 2011.
