FMC Technologies is to supply subsea and topside systems for the West Boreas field development under an agreement with Shell Offshore.

The West Boreas field is located in the Gulf of Mexico in Mississippi Canyon block 762, in water depths of 3,100ft.

The contract order includes six subsea production trees, each rated at 15,000psi.

FMC will also manufacture and provide subsea and topside controls, one manifold and related systems and equipment.

FMC Technologies president and COO John Gremp said that West Boreas will be the first field to use FMC’s 15,000psi enhanced vertical deepwater tree system.

Deliveries will begin in the third quarter of 2012.
