Sonde Resources has completed drilling and production testing on the Zarat North-1 appraisal well on the 7th of November block, offshore Tunisia and Libya.

Drilled vertically to a depth of 9,728ft, the well encountered 240ft of net pay in the Eocene El Gueria limestone.

All three tests flowed substantial quantities of gas and condensate with Test 2 flowing at sustained rates of 750 barrels of condensate and eight million cubic feet of gas per day, with peak condensate rates as high as 1,100 barrels per day.

Tests 1 and 3 observed sustained rates of 600 barrels of condensate per day and gas ranging from eight million cubic feet to 11.5 million cubic feet per day.

Sonde is assessing test data to determine key reservoir characteristics including porosity, permeability, water saturation and gas composition.

The firm is also reviewing recoverable reserve scenarios, development options and cost estimates to develop the Zarat field.

Sonde owns a 100% working interest in the Zarat North-1 appraisal.
