Apache Corporation is to continue a subsea survey to identify the source of water disturbance near East Cameron block 278’s platform B, offshore Louisiana, US, in the Gulf of Mexico.

The firm began plugging and abandonment operations after sighting water disturbance in water depths of 168ft, 90 miles off the shore of Cameron, Louisiana.

The response to the disturbance will depend on the outcome of the ROV survey.

Apache has notified regulatory authorities including the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement about the water disturbance and is coordinating its response activities with them.
