Lundin Norway has received approval to conduct exploration activities and drill well 7120 / 2-3 in the Barents Sea with the Transocean Leader mobile facility.

The well lies in production licence 438, 172km north-west of Melkoya and 30km north-west of Snohvit.

The drilling activities are expected to commence in mid-May, with a duration of 56 days (dry well) to 71 days (discovery).

Transocean Offshore is the owner and operator of Transocean Leader, an Aker H-4.2 semi-submersible drilling facility.
