Sembcorp Marine subsidiary SMOE has secured a contract worth SGD600m ($492.11m) from PTTEP International to build an offshore platform in block M9 in the Andaman Sea, offshore Myanmar.

Under the contract, SMOE will be responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction, transportation, installation, offshore hook-up and commissioning of a processing and living quarters platform.

The platform’s 15,000t topsides will be integrated with a living quarters module for 128 personnel, a jacket with approximately 20,000t of piles and a 100m flare boom.

The company will begin construction of the platform in October 2011 and is expected to be completed by November 2013.
