HRT Participacoes em Petroleo has completed the acquisition of 3D seismic data over a 5,278km² area of HRT’s offshore blocks 2112B and 2212A in the Walvis Basin, offshore Namibia.

The survey was conducted using the Polarcus Naila vessel, which HRT said gives an in-depth view of rift and drift sequences.

The company said the acquisition programme had exceeded its commitment of acquiring 200km² of 3D seismic data prior to June 2013.

HRT owns a 100% exploratory interest in the blocks and the Republic of Namibia’s Ministry of Mines and Energy has extended the first exploration period from three to five years.
