GE Oil & Gas has secured a contract from Bechtel International to supply compression technology for two LNG refrigeration trains for the Chevron-operated Wheatstone Project in Western Australia.

The contract includes 12 mechanical drives and four drive generators.

GE Oil & Gas in Florence, Italy, will build and package the refrigeration compressors and tests will be conducted in Massa.

The Wheatstone project is located 90 miles off the Carnarvon Basin, at water depths of 200m.
