Noble Corporation has secured two separate contracts from Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) and Wintershall to supply semi-submersible drill rigs.

GSPC awarded a 180-day contract for its semi-submersible rig Noble Paul Romano for operations on a six-well drilling programme, offshore Egypt, at a day rate of $325,000.

The rig will be mobilised to an initial drilling location in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea and will begin work in October 2011.

Wintershall awarded a contract to secure the Noble George Sauvageau drill rig for one year for operations in the southern sector of the North Sea at a day rate of $115,000.

Noble also received a contract from PEMEX Exploracion y Produccion to extend the services of the semi-submersible rig Noble Max Smith, operating offshore Mexico, for five months.
