Seadrill has secured two contracts from Al-Khafji Joint Operations (KJO) to supply jack-up rigs to be deployed at the joint development zone between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

The company will provide the West Triton and Offshore Resolute rigs for a period of three years.

The contract also includes an option for KJO to extend the term for a further year.

Seadrill Management CEO ALF Thorkildsen said the new contracts will strengthen the relationship with KJO, one of its key customers in the Arabian Gulf.

“In addition, relocating two rigs for term work at attractive market rates serves our strategic desire to increase our long-term presence in this active oil and gas region,” said Thorkildsen.
