Fluor has secured a $100m contract from Chevron Neftegaz to provide project services for the Caspian pipeline expansion project.

The Caspian pipeline originates in western Kazakhstan and runs 1,510km west to the terminal in Novorossiysk, Russia, on the Black Sea.

Under the contract, Fluor will provide oversight assistance for the deepwater marine terminal expansion in Novorossiysk, as well as supervisory control for the entire pipeline.

Fluor Energy & Chemicals Group president Peter Oosterveer said that the project will pave the way for additional crude oil production expansion projects in the region.

The project is expected to be completed at the end of 2014.

Chevron Neftegaz is one of three project managers engaged by the Caspian Pipeline Consortium.
