GE Oil & Gas has agreed to supply subsea production equipment to Valiant Causeway for the development of the Causeway field in the North Sea.

Under the contract, GE will provide two subsea production trees, one subsea water injection tree system, rental tooling and installation services for the project.

The equipment will be manufactured at GE’s facilities in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Production from the field will begin in the second half of 2012 and installation of the subsea tree system will start in May 2012.

The Causeway field, which comprises one oil-producing well, one contingent oil-producing well and one water-injection well, is being developed using subsea production technology with a tie-back to the North Cormorant platform.

The main objective of the project is to maintain production with the use of electrical submersible pumps and water injection.
