Sixteen oil workers returning from a BP oil platform in the North Sea are feared dead, while the search for more survivors resumes this morning, following a helicopter crash yesterday.
The bodies of eight on board were recovered yesterday afternoon after the Bond Super Puma helicopter came down about 15 miles off Peterhead in Aberdeenshire.

The aircraft was returning from oil company BP’s Miller oilfield, 168 miles north-east of Aberdeen, when it crashed. The crew of a support vessel saw the crash and sent a boat out but only wreckage was found.
The search area has grown overnight to cover about 30 sq nautical miles, the Maritime and Coastguard Agency said.
BP has announced it will temporarily stop using Bond helicopters.
