StatoilHydro, a Norway-based integrated oil and gas company, said that its Troll field has been shut down for revamp work.
The shutdown of gas production at the Troll A platform is anticipated to continue for about two weeks from 25 May.
The Troll field, located in the Norwegian North Sea, comprises of about 60% of total gas reserves on the continental shelf.
StatoilHydro company spokesperson Geir Gjervan confirmed that the field has been closed for maintenance.
