Technip, a France-based operator of gas and oil engineering, technologies and projects, has been awarded a contract by BHP Billiton for the installation of a flowline for its Angostura offshore gas project.

The contract includes the fabrication, transportation and installation of a flowline, and transportation and installation of an umbilical, for the project offshore Trinidad & Tobago, in about 30m (100ft) of water.

Technip’s operating centre in Houston, Texas will carry out the contract.

The flowline will be welded at Technip’s spoolbase located in Evanton, Scotland.

Offshore installation is scheduled for 2010, using the Apache, one of Technip’s pipelay vessels, and one of Technip’s diving support vessels.
