Nigeria and Japan are to hold talks to build a $150m pipeline using an overseas development fund (ODF).

The two countries will also discuss Japan’s $4bn pledge to Africa with particular focus on agricultural and infrastructure development programmes.

“In the oil and gas sector, a pipeline project estimated to cost $150m has been identified; that is if the Japanese government’s ODF is restored,” the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ojo Maduekwe said.

A firm date for talks has yet to be announced.
