India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has issued a $366m offshore platform contract to Afcons-Gunanusa, a joint venture between Gunanusa Utama Fabricators and Afcons Infrastructure.

The scope of work includes setting up the ICP-R Process Platform with a bridge connected to an existing Icg complex, a flare tripod, laying 1.2km of submarine pipelines and integration with the ICP and ICG platform.

“With ONGC slated to invest nearly $60bn in the next five years, Afcons will make a significant bid into a lucrative business opportunity in the offshore business,” said Afcons MD Mr K Subrahmanian.

The project is expected to be complete by April 2011.
