Oil and gas exploration and development company Providence Resources has announced that it will start site survey work on the Dunquin acreage, Porcupine Basin, offshore the west coast of Ireland.

The work is to be carried out on behalf of itself and its co-venturers and is to assess the site for the possible drilling of an exploration well.

Providence Resources holds a non-operated 16% interest in FEL 3/04 with its partners Exxon Mobil, which holds an 80% stake, and Sosina Exploration, which holds a minority 4% share.

ExxonMobil is the licence operator.
