Mexican oil company Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex) reported that its Mexican oil production fell to 2.519 million barrels per day in June 2009, down 11.1% from the same period in 2008, Reuters reported.

Pemex further reported a 12.7% drop in oil exports in June 2009, from exports of 1.236 million bpd in June 2008.

The fall in June 2009 oil production was exacerbated by planned maintenance, the company said.

Pemex previously announced that overhauls on production facilities at its two main oil fields would cut about 45,800bpd from June output.
