Electromagnetic Geoservices (EGMS) has secured a 3D EM data acquisition and processing services contract for Total E&P Norge’s Frigg field in the North Sea.

The Clearplay Evaluate 3D EM survey will be conducted in September over an area of 100km² and in water depths of about 100m using densely sampled, wide-azimuth 3D EM grids.

A purpose-built 3D EM vessel BOA Thalassa will be used for the programme, which is aimed at developing a better understanding of the reservoir, EGMS said.

Field production at Frigg ended in October 2004, and the decommissioning activity is expected to be finalised soon.
