UK explorer Aurelian Oil & Gas increased its production in Romania by 60% in the first half of 2009 after tying in two extra wells.
The company has brought on stream the Vicsani and Fratauti-1 wells in the Brodina concession, increasing output to 5 million cubic feet per day.
Aurelian has also identifed a new prospect in the Suceava block in Romania, which will undergo drilling early next year.
The well can be quickly tied in after drilling is complete, which will help increase production through the facility to nearly 11 million cubic feet per day.
It has also been awarded six new exploration blocks in the Carpathian region of Poland.
