Roxtec has entered into a contract with offshore specialist SeaDragon to supply two major oil rigs.
The deal involves the supply of cable and pipe seals to SeaDragon, which is building two semi-submersible drilling rigs with a combined value of $483.4m (£300m).
Roxtec began supplying cable and pipe seals for the hull construction in Russia and then developed the living quarters in the UK. The company is now providing seals to the project at the Singapore-based Jurong shipyard.
Roxtec UK MD Graham O’Hare said the deal demonstrates the suitability of its multidiameter seals in the oil and gas segment.
“In a highly safety conscious and dangerous sector such as offshore drilling it is vital to have the highest possible standards of safety,” O’Hare said.
