Oil prices remain below $83 a barrel today as traders await information about US jobs, which will provide insight into potential oil demand and economic growth.

For February delivery, US crude increased by 2¢ to $82.68 a barrel at 7:39am GMT, while London Brent crude fell by 27¢ to $81.24 a barrel, reports Reuters.

This week, oil prices are on track to post a gain of 3.9%.

Thursday’s oil prices broke a ten-day consecutive price gain, declining from a 15-month high on the strong dollar and as China’s strict monetary policy stoked concerns about US oil demand.
