Gas production from Statoil’s Norwegian fields in 2010 is expected to be on par with last year’s output, and this week’s stoppages at its giant Troll field will have no long-term impact.
Statoil executive vice president Øystein Michelsen said two production stoppages at Troll posed no risk to longer-term operations at the North Sea’s biggest gas field.
The stoppages at Troll are due to the cold winter, which has led to a rise in gas demand.
