Marathon Petroleum said it has evacuated some of its workers from drilling rig Songa Dee on the Alvheim field in the North Sea after a supply boat knocked into it.
The report by news agency NTB said the company was moving its staff as a precautionary measure.
There have been no reports of damage to the rig or its crew after the supply ship, which was experiencing engine problems, bumped into the rig for almost an hour on Monday evening, NTB said.
The rig has around 100 personnel while the supply ship carries a crew of 14. Marathon had kept about half the crew on the rig to keep it operational, according to NTB.
Alvheim is an oil and gas field in the northern part of the North Sea.
