Danish company DONG Energy said it has resumed production at its Siri field in the Danish part of the North Sea.

Production from the field was halted in August last year following the discovery of cracks in a subsea structure attached to the oil storage tank beneath the Siri platform.

A metal frame has been temporary installed to support the structure to assure the stability of the construction.

The STINE, Cecilie and Nini oil fields adjacent to Siri have also resumed production because the oil generated from these fields flow through a pipeline to the Siri platform and from there to tankers.

DONG, Germany’s RWE and Norway’s Noreco own the Siri field, which is operated by DONG.
