Aker Solutions has won a contract from Petrobras to supply sulphate-removal units (SRUs) for two of its FPSO platforms, for operations offshore Brazil.
Under the $41m contract, Aker will deliver two SRUs with associated equipment to be installed on the topsides of the P-58 and P-62 FPSOs.
Aker will also provide detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication of major equipment, commissioning and start-up services as a part of the contract.
The work will be carried out by Aker’s team, based in Rio de Janeiro, who will further develop the conceptual design and oversee the project through to delivery.
The FPSO P-58, located in the Campos’ Basin offshore Brazil, will produce 180,000bopd and will operate north of the Parque das Baleias field.
The FPSOP P-62, with equal capacity and located in the Campos Basin, will operate in module 4 of the Roncador field.
The platforms’ first oil is expected in 2014.
