Engineering company Mustang has been selected by Woodside Energy to assess the North Rankin B (NRB) platform topsides, to be located on the North West Shelf of Australia.

The NRB topsides will be floatover-installed on a steel jacket at a depth of 126m (413ft), one of the deepest open-water floatover steel jackets, according to Mustang.

The integrated floatover deck will be installed on the platform’s steel jacket substructure.

The NRB platform will be similar in size to the existing NRA facility and after installation the NRB platform bridge-linked to NRA platform will form the NR2 central processing complex.

Mustang said installation work on the NRB topsides started in January this year.
