Oil and gas industry body Subsea UK said it has added 15 new names to its list of members, a reflection of the rapidly growing UK subsea sector.
The 200-member group represents over 30% of the UK’s subsea firms, which between them employ over 25% of the 40,000 UK employees in the sector.
“The UKCS is becoming much tougher to extend with rewards often not able to sustain costs,” said Subsea UK chief Alistair Birnie. “To sustain the UK’s subsea sector, we have to transform our exports from around $4bn at present to around $10bn.”
Members of Subsea UK span the entire subsea supply chain, from operators and major contractors and manufacturers to small technology innovators.
Recent members include Ashtead Technology, SMIT Subsea Europe and Pipe Technologies.
