Petrobras has awarded a contract to PGS to install a seismic monitoring system in the Jubarte Field in the North Campos Basin, Espirito Santo province, offshore Brazil.
Under the contract, PGS will provide and install its OptoSeis fibre-optic permanent system and perform seismic acquisition and data processing for the project.
The OptoSeis system provides richer data and is certified for reliability for the life of the reservoir, the companies said in a statement.
The initial project covers a portion of the Jubarte Field at 245km² and a depth of 1,240 to 1,350m.
