Russia’s Lukoil said its joint venture with Vanco International has won a tender to explore two blocks, Est Rapsodia and Trident, in the Romanian section of the Black Sea.
The Est Rapsodia and Trident blocks are located at water depths ranging from 90m to 1,000m, at a distance of 60-100km from the coastline.
The total area of the two licence blocks is about 2,000km², Lukoil said.
A concession agreement will be signed with Romania’s Mineral Resources Agency within the next six months.
Lukoil holds an 80% interest in the venture.
