Germany’s Wintershall Norge has discovered oil and gas offshore Norway.

Preliminary estimates of the size of the discovery indicate ten million to 20 million standard cubic metres of recoverable oil and two billion to five billion standard cubic metres of recoverable gas, Wintershall said.

The well, 6406 / 3-8, was drilled about 20km southeast of the Åsgard field and 10km northwest of the Tyrihans field in the Norwegian Sea.
