Brazil’s OGX said it has discovered oil in the Campos Basin’s BM-C-41 block.
The company said that it has identified an oil-bearing region in the Aptian section of the 1-OGX-15-RJS well, offshore Brazil.
Two oil intervals were discovered with net pays of 4m and 27m, OGX said.
Drilling of the OGX-15 well is in progress and is expected to continue to a total estimated depth of approximately 3,500m.
The company earlier announced a similar discovery in the Albian section of the same well.
The OGX-15 well, located in the BM-C-41 block, is situated approximately 78km off the coast of the state of Rio de Janeiro at a water depth of approximately 130m.
