BW Offshore has won a contract for the completion of the FPSO OSX-1 for OGX at its Waimea oil field in the Campos Basin offshore Brazil.

Under the $150m contract, BW Offshore will act as a project manager and provide engineering services, detailing the equipment required for customisation and support of the procurement process.

The scope of work includes topside modifications for heavy oil processing, water separation and power generation, and the delivery of submerged turret production.

In January OGX signed an agreement with OSX Brasil for the charter of the FPSO OSX-1.

The FPSO has a daily production capacity of 80,000 barrels of oil and a storage capacity of 950,000 barrels of oil.

The project is scheduled for completion in mid-2011.
