Turkmenistan has selected US energy companies to bid for their first concessions to develop offshore oil deposits in the country.

Chevron, ConocoPhillips and TX Oil were chosen to develop blocks 9 and 20 in Turkmenistan’s part of the Caspian Sea, according to Reuters.

Abu Dhabi-based Mubadala Oil and Gas was also picked to bid for the blocks.
