Oil prices remained steady at a near six-week low of $75 a barrel today.

For September delivery, US crude declined 8 cents to $74.41 at 0512 GMT, while London Brent for October rose 13 cents to $75.43, reports Reuters.

US crude settled below $75 on Thursday for the first time since 12 July, after touching a trough of $73.83 on Wednesday, the lowest intraday price since 7 July.
