Abu Dhabi National Energy subsidiary TAQA Bratani has sealed a deal to acquire Total’s entire 81% stake in production licences for two blocks in the Otter oil field in the North Sea.

Otter is a subsea tieback to the TAQA Bratani-operated Eider Platform and lies adjacent to the company’s existing North Sea interests.

The Otter oil field produces about 8,000 barrels of oil a day.

A spokesman from TAQA said the deal was part of the company’s long-term strategy of investing in the North Sea and developing established assets.
