Oil prices traded near $77 a barrel today aided by a weaker dollar and rising equities.

For November delivery US crude rose 13¢ to stand at $76.62 a barrel at 05.39 GMT, while London Brent crude remained unchanged at $78.87 a barrel, reports Reuters.

The Organization of Petroleum Countries (OPEC) is expected to maintain its production levels at a meeting in Vienna next month.

OPEC has left its output ceiling unchanged for almost two years since announcing a record supply curb of 4.2 million barrels per day in December 2008 to combat lower demand and prices.
