BG Norge is to begin manned underwater operations at the Gaupe field, which is located between the Norwegian and UK sectors in the North Sea.

The company received a permit from the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway for saturation diving, which will support development at the site.

Project management service provider Technip will develop the field using the subsea facility DSV Skandi Arctic with two wells tied in to the Armada facility on the UK Continental Shelf.

Work on the UK Continental Shelf is expected to take 30 days to complete and work on the Norwegian Continental Shelf will finish in 12 days.
