Noble Energy has revised its drilling plans for the deepwater rigs it has under contract in the Eastern Mediterranean, offshore Israel.
The Ensco 5006 rig, which needs repairs, will be moved from the Leviathan #3 well, and the deepwater semi-submersible rig Transocean Sedco Express will be moved from the Tamar natural gas find to take over the drilling.
The rig is expected to drill up to two exploration prospects and will finish the development’s drilling and completion work before returning to Tamar.
Ensco 5006’s riser system will be repaired and used to drill the Dolphin prospect, which is located on the Hanna licence, offshore Israel.
The Noble Corporation Homer Ferrington rig recently drilled two development wells at the Noa prospect and completion operations will begin early next year.
Homer Ferrington was moved to block 12 offshore Cyprus, where it is drilling the Cyprus A prospect; on completion it will be relocated to Israel.
