Thailand-based PTT Exploration & Production has discovered more natural gas in the AC/RL7 block, which is located 700km west of Darwin, Australia, in the Timor Sea.

Natural gas was found at appraisal well Cash-2 in the Cash-Maple field, which was drilled at a depth of 4,135m.

Gas flow tests were conducted in two zones at recorded rates of 28 million and 30 million cubic metres of natural gas per day, with 737 and 663 barrels per day of condensate.

The firm expects to have high potential of preliminary petroleum reserves and will drill another appraisal well in 2012.
