UK-based AVEVA, a provider of engineering design and information management solutions, has announced that Synergy Engineering has executed a brownfield modification project using the company’s Laser Modeller technology.

"The hardware-neutral technology accepts data from all leading laser scanning systems."

The hardware-neutral technology accepts data from all leading laser scanning systems and helps create validated and intelligent 3D plant models.

By using this technology Synergy, a leading engineering consultant based in south-east Asia, has now acquired an intelligent PDMS model for its brownfield project in order to bring down the time and cost that are usually associated with such projects.

Synergy Engineering director Arief Susanto said the creation of intelligent shapes and objects within the AVEVA Laser Modeller environment was easy to learn and simple to use.

"Synergy Engineering, after its successful completion of the project, firmly believes that AVEVA Laser Modeller will help us to prioritise technical competence and focus on delivering services to meet our client’s expectations, with the tools reducing menial and laborious site verification work," Susanto added.

AVEVA EDS Strategy and Marketing senior vice-president, Bruce Douglas, said that the technology would help make brownfield information evergreen.

"AVEVA Laser Modeller changes the ground rules of laser scanning by automating aspects of the modelling process, enabling a fully intelligent 3D model to be produced in a fraction of the time and cost previously required," he said.

Synergy is a multidiscipline engineering consultant company, which focuses on providing technical services to major oil and gas companies in the Asia Pacific region.
