Wyoming witnessed a decrease of 12.78% in total oil and gas production to 8,40,013.43 boe/d in May 2020 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.
The oil and gas production declined 18.94% in May 2020 from 10,36,297.6 boe/d in May 2019. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in 2020 decreased by 4.2% from the same period in 2019.
In May 2020, oil production declined 31.83% to 1,64,147.8 bd as against the previous month, while gas production declined by 6.43% to 3,920.02 mmcf/d.
On a YTD basis, oil production decreased by 4.98% in 2020 when compared with the same period in 2019, while gas production declined by 3.93%. Out of the total oil and gas production in May 2020, oil held a 19.54% share, while gas had an 80.46% share.
In Wyoming, Ultra Petroleum emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 1,73,725.55 boe/d in May 2020, a decrease of 1.94% from the previous month. The company held a 4.12% share in oil production and 24.7% share in gas production in May 2020.
On a YTD basis, the company registered an 18.39% decrease in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2019.
Compared with other counties in Wyoming, Sublette county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 48.76% share in May 2020. The county witnessed a 2.7% decrease in production to 4,09,576.75 boe/d in May 2020 when compared with the previous month.
On a YTD basis, Sublette registered a decline of 6.65% in total production from the same period in 2019.
