Swedish oil and gas company Lundin Petroleum has encountered a dry well in block Marine XI Congo, offshore Congo.
Mindou Marine-1, which was spudded to a total depth of 3,515m, did not encounter oil shows in the target pre-salt section.
Lundin said it will log the well for a full geological interpretation.
The drilling of the well is in line with the company’s phase II drilling plan of the licence, and is the first of a two-to-three well programme on blocks Marine XI and XIV.
Lundin holds an 18.75% working interest in the licence, which is operated by SOCO International.
