Scotland-based oilfield service company Romar International has secured a contract from Shell to provide swarf-handling equipment and personnel.

Romar’s equipment services will be used to recover metal cuttings during the plugging and abandonment of six wells for Shell’s Shear water field in the central North Sea.

Romar’s magnetic separation products remove large quantities of swarf and metal particles from fluid systems, reducing the need for mechanical or human intervention, and eliminate the system operator’s exposure to swarf and hazardous chemicals.
