January 2022 has seen an increase of 9.89% in the overall hiring activity when compared with December 2022.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in January 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 66.85% in January 2022, a 52.56% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 15.03% in January 2022, marking a 78.33% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 7.3% in January 2022, a 6.12% rise from December 2022.

Top five oil & gas companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in January 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 74.9% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s oil & gas industry during January 2022 over previous month.
Royal Dutch Shell posted 257 IT jobs in January 2022 and registered an increase of 108.94% over the previous month, followed by Koch Industries with 70 jobs and a 105.88% growth. Baker Hughes with 56 IT jobs and PI Industries with 37 jobs, recorded a 27.27% rise and a 640% rise, respectively, while Yara International recorded a 37.74% decline with 33 job postings during January 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s oil & gas industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 73.17% share in January 2022, an 88.09% increase over December 2022. China featured next with a 6.32% share, down 16.67% over the previous month. Malaysia recorded a 5.62% share, a growth of 42.86% compared with December 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in January 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.1%, up by 46.46% from December 2022. Mid Level positions with a 31.74% share, registered a growth of 69.92% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 7.16% share, up 88.89% over December 2022.
